Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here at Overland Cruisers we get a lot of similar questions. Please review our FAQ below. If you don’t see the answer to your question, please use our contact form and we will address your query. Thank you!

We are open Monday through Thursday, 7:00am to 5:30pm MST. Phone calls and emails received outside of our office hours will be responded to as soon as possible. We’re a small business, your patience is appreciated.

Due to past issues with customers acquiring either the incorrect parts or low quality parts we cannot install customer supplied parts. We strive to perform the highest quality work/repairs possible. A large part of our process is made possible by only us sourcing the best quality parts from around the world.

Diagnostic testing is required to find the root cause of a problem or customer concern with their vehicle. Checking codes is only the first step in solving vehicle issues. Diagnostic time is billed at a one hour minimum; many times, the issue can be determined within the first hour. If further diagnostic workup is needed, we will let you know our findings to that point and ask for your approval for additional diagnostic time. We often get asked if diagnostic charges are subtracted from the final invoice.  They are not. It takes time to find the vehicle problem and then additional time to remedy that problem. Occasionally partial disassembly is required in the diagnostic process. If this overlaps with the repair procedure then that time is subtracted from the repair.

A comprehensive vehicle inspection is an in-depth bumper to bumper review of all vehicle operations to identify any areas of concern. This inspection takes approximately 3.5 hours and can be done on any vehicle prior to purchase or older vehicles a that customer plans to keep indefinitely. The information obtained will help you and Overland Cruisers identify what areas need to be addressed to keep a vehicle running smoothly and extend its life.

Under normal circumstances we plan our schedule and book appointments a week to two weeks in advance. However, as hurried as life is these days we understand it isn’t always possible to “plan” a vehicle that won’t start. There are times when we are able to accommodate a customer needing same day service. Overland Cruisers strongly encourages all our customers to call ahead and make an appointment. This will help us provide you with the best service possible.

We sure do! Performing preventative maintenance is recommended as it will extend the life of your vehicle by taking time to address any “minor” problems BEFORE they become major issues. Recommended maintenance like replacing brakes and tune-ups as well as any maintenance at mileage milestones (25,000, 50,000, 75,000) are examples of preventive items we perform. We also complete a basic inspection of vehicle systems with each service. This helps us to catch small issues before they become larger more costly issues. If you are unsure of your vehicle’s maintenance needs, send us an email with your vehicle’s year, make, model and mileage and we can look up the required maintenance for you.

Yes we do!

Overland Cruisers is happy to do a Diagnostic Check and provide an estimate for customer reimbursement by their Insurance or Warranty Company. We require direct payment from customers upon completion of repairs and do not file any insurance or warranty claim paperwork.

While some repairs are simple fixes, others can take a week or more to complete. Once parts are ordered it can take up to a few days to arrive (or more if they have to be globally sourced i.e. from Japan or Australia). Overland Cruisers prides itself in providing the best service possible and makes every effort to finish each job within the time frame set forth with the customer.

Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Cash and Check are all acceptable methods of payment.
